Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page on iDonate.ie.
We are Probationer Firefighters with Cork City Fire Brigade. We are pushing and pulling a vintage Fire Appliance, otherwise known as an Engine or Truck, from the east end of Oliver Plunkett Street, through the City, to the Mercy Hospital at Henry Street. This will take place on Friday 16th September, between 10am and 3pm.
We've chosen to fundraise for the Mercy University Hospital Foundation; in particular, the Paediatric Oncology Outreach Nursing Service - kids and teens battling cancer. It is the only service of its kind in Ireland and is funded through generous donations from the public. This crucial service allows children and teens who are suffering from cancer to be treated in their own homes. The service covers a large geographical area from Youghal to Bantry and Mitchelstown to Kinsale, as well as surrounding counties. So that all children have access to this service regardless of their location. These kids and teens battling cancer are the real heroes.
