Orlaith, Amy and Lauren decided while walking their dogs that it would be a great idea to walk a covid marathon within their 5km in aid of a fantastic local charity Aoife's Clown Doctors. Today after 9.5 hours and 49,000 steps, they beat Storm Justine's freezing wind and torrential rain and smashed the 42km marathon... and all to keep the smiles spreading in hospitals around Ireland for sick children.

Aoife's Clown Doctors are professional actors, trained to work in hospital settings. They do the most amazing work visiting and entertaining vulnerable and sick children on the wards of many Irish hospitals. This is not only beneficial for the children but also the stressed and anxious parents who get to see their child laughing again. Aoife loved their visits, forever 5 years old, and spreading smiles is now her legacy.
