Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page on iDonate.ie We are taking part in Runners V Riders 2024 Grace and I are undertaking 3 major cycles in May this year to raise funds for the upgrading of our open water pool in Banagher and St Mary’s National School in Cloghan. The pool replacement will ensure that anybody who lives or visits our town will have a safe area to swim, a comfortable place to relax and simply enjoy the Park and river. The existing pool is used every day throughout the year by daily swimmers, families, team recovery sessions (all codes) visitors and tourists but the existing infrastructure needs to be replaced. Our new pool will have enhanced seating, kids pool, a canoe launch, larger swimming area and wheelchair accessibility all with the aim of increasing the number of people who can easily access the water. We have a very strong family bond with this project in that my Dad John was an integral part of the original group who secured the area developed the original park and the swimming area. He continued to be involved with the river and the park all his life One major difference with our park is owned by the local community not by a council. The major cycles are Mizen to Malin circa 600k between the 18th to 21st May Tour-de-Offaly Saturday 6th May circa 200k (out last training day) if you would like to join this cycle for all or part you are welcome to come along. Banagher/Cloghan to Galway circa 200k between 26th & 27th May.
We are undertaking this major challenge as the monies involved are hefty obviously we are hoping to get grants but we must raise a % of the grant amount or we cannot qualify for same.

About the Cause
St Mary's National School, Cloghan
St Mary's National School - we are a rural national school based in Cloghan, Co. Offaly. The school is in the heart of the midlands, close to Lough Boora. It is situated in the village, on Castle St. and is close to the park and church.
We are a local development group trying to raise funds to upgrade our swimming pool. The development has full planning permission and now funds have to be raised to complete the development.
idonate was established in 2011 to assist charities & non profits in fundraising. Our aim is to provide tools for both charities and fundraisers to help raise much needed funds.
