50 male and female Inter-County Gaelic Games players from all four codes taking place in the first ever challenge game to be held in Kenya from the 19th to 27th November.
The Games are the brainchild and being organised by Alan Kerins and his organisation Warriors for Humanity in partnership with Self Help Africa and the GPA, enabling us as players leverage our influence in support of one of the biggest challenges of our time – that of climate change.
Our collective aim is to raise enough funds to plant 1 million trees. The funds raised will go to Self Help Africa to support the planting of trees, essential not only to combating the increasing impact of climate change but also as a way of providing sustainable income for local communities.
Africa accounts for the smallest share of global greenhouse gas emissions, around 4% - but is suffering some of the worst effects of climate change. Trees are one of the most effective ways to mitigate the effects of climate change. A single mature tree can remove more than 25kgs of harmful greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause. I hope you can help us by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely.
