On my 49th Birthday in January 2012, I was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer. I'd never heard of this cancer but was no stranger to the effects of other forms of the disease. Breast, lung, brain and especially prostrate. All cancers kill. Some more than others and I was certainly facing a tough road ahead. Medical Science, Doctors, Nurses, Surgeons and Oncologists all combined to carry me on that journey and bring me to where I am today. ALIVE & WELL. Able to enjoy my young Grandchildren. We won the battle but we are still a long way from winning the war. To do so, we need more research, more clinical trials, more support structures for patients, families and survivors. This means funding, lots of it and this is why I am approaching you. OCF needs your help to raise more funds. More money means more lives, like mine, will be saved. More children won't lose a Dad or a Mum, more Mothers and Fathers won't lose sons and daughters.
So Please support my meagre effort to walk, run, creep or crawl the 26 miles and to Remember in September that in 2022, a decade from diagnosis, I'm still standing. Please give as much as you can afford. Thanks so much. Mark
