Fergal Keane, Jimmy Flynn, Paul Reilly, and Cian Reilly are off on the adventure of a life time. Driving from Dublin, across Europe, into the Asia and along the Silk Road, to the far eastern edge of Kazakhstan. How are they getting there? Two circa 2000 Nissan Micras!!

But! They aren't just doing it for the adventure and the challenge. They are doing it to raise funds for Spinal Injuries Ireland!

They see their challenge of traveling over 13,700km as paling in comparison to the challenges faced by people who have suffered and live with a spinal cord injury (SCI). Fergal and team want to ensure the trials and tribulations faced on the road to Mongolia will encourage donations. You can follow there journey on their Instagram page:

The team are paying for their journey themselves, meaning every euro raised will go to the services Spinal Injuries Ireland (SII) provide to the over 2,500 people who live with a SCI in Ireland. SII provide wide ranging, unique and tailored support specifically for people with SCI. Including, free trauma counselling, a team of outreach officers, a team of peer support officers, peer to peer online and in-person learning, organised accessible activities, advocacy and so much more.

Three people a week acquire a spinal cord injury. Fergal and team are aiming to help provide at least 100 of those newly injured service users with our full suite of support they will need to be empowered to live life to its fullest and overcome the barriers they will now face.

To provide this support, SII needs €500 for each newly injured person.
