Well we did it despite Storm Ellen! Thank you so so much to everyone who donated. We are so overwhelmed by the amount we have raised for the hospice and it is all because of you amazing supporters.
Thank you from myself and my family 💗
Yes, we really can’t cycle – some of us walk, some run and some swim for charity but this time we all
wanted to do something together (we’re a family group of 6).
Why? Because in the last year we’ve lost two precious family members (Rían – aged 15 months and
two weeks) and Shay (aged 72). St Francis Hospice in Raheny has provided incredible support in a
number of ways to all of our family as part of their Palliative Care work.
We wanted to raise funds for them to say Thank You. So we’ve borrowed, or dusted off, bicycles
and plan on cycling from Galway to Dublin from Friday 21 st August to Sunday 23 rd August.
We’re not the Lycra Brigade – some of us had never been on bikes before starting training for this
epic voyage.
We know you, like us, will have personal experience of the great work that the Hospice does and this
year it is especially important that we make an extra effort to raise funds for them.
So promise us a few euro in sponsorship, safe in the knowledge that we will have sore behinds,
aching legs and certainly not look like something that competes in the Tour de France!
Galway to Dublin – 230 painful kilometres! Get your credit cards out! We’re hoping to raise
€2,300.00!
