22nd December: Eoinie’s fundraiser raised a colossal €70,040 from online and offline donations for the South Westmeath Hospice. It is truly an amazing final figure. Thank you for your generosity and support. We are blessed having the South Westmeath Hospice for our local communities. The incredible staff and the fantastic purpose built environment provide a safe, comfortable and loving space both for people’s respite stays and for one of the most profound experiences of life. The persons’ rooms, the relaxation spaces, the welcoming garden and the family rooms wholeheartedly contribute to this space. Thank you for supporting the South Westmeath Hospice. Thank you for celebrating and honouring Eoinie.
Go raibh maith agat,
Eoinie’s Family, the Farrells & Murphys
16th November Update: To everyone, home and abroad, who has donated to the South Westmeath Hospice in Eoinie’s honour, we thank you so very much. The original donation target has well and truly been smashed! THANK YOU. The donations are vital to the running of South Westmeath Hospice. The Hospice’s extraordinary staff and facilities is the life affirming source of palliative care, love and strength for people, their families and friends in the communities of South Westmeath and Roscommon areas.
Thank you to everyone, those who sponsored the event and those who helped organise a truly special day. The community in Ardnagrath, Maryland & Drumraney hosted a fantastic family fun run/walk celebrating Eoinie and his 40th birthday. All 740 participants, Moran’s Coaches and bus drivers, 50+ stewards & volunteers, kids goody-bag makers and sandwich/cake/tea makers! Being able to celebrate Eoinie at his primary school, Ardnagrath N.S. made the day all the more special.
Thank you to everyone across Ireland, and abroad who did their own 5k celebrating Eoinie’s life. The 5k participants & volunteers in Wellington ‘enjoyed’ thunderstorms at their event in New Zealand. Eoinie was known to drop words of encouragement to others if the weather was off-putting for exercise. “Sure ‘tis only rain!”
Your support has lifted our broken hearts. Donations will stay open until 27th November. Thank you all.
October 2022 Update: Eoinie Farrell lived life with a smile on his face. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, work mate and friend. Eoinie passed away in July 2022 in the care of the South Westmeath Hospice. He was 39 years of age. We are forever grateful to the hospice team and for the specialist facilities the hospice provided Eoinie and his family. We have chosen to raise funds for the South Westmeath Hospice. The Hospice relies on voluntary donations to provide their vital specialist services.
Eoinie loved life and a good party. Please join Eoinie’s family, neighbours, friends and community on 12th November to celebrate his 40th birthday with a 5K family fun run/walk. Since his student days in Ardnagrath National School, Eoinie regularly used the same 5k route. He ran the route many’s a time as part of his training for triathlons, soccer and gaelic with his club Maryland, Maryland/Tang and Westmeath. In recent years, Eoinie could be seen cycling the route on his Dad’s gearless high nelly bike! Eoinie enjoyed throwing in extra challenges for himself!
If you wish to take part in the run/walk , PLEASE REGISTER BY CLICKING ON THE REGISTRATION LINK IN GREEN BELOW. Entry Fee: Individual €15.00, Family €25.00
