Clontarf GAA Hurl-A-Ton Fundraiser to raise funds for publicly available Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in the area.

Event Details

The distressing incident involving Christian Eriksen at the Euros showed how important it is to have publicly available Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). The GAA has been working for a long time to make sure there are AEDs close at hand in GAA clubs and pitches. Did you know that 42 lives across Ireland have been saved by such AEDs located in GAA facilities? In Clontarf Gaa we currently have two publicly available AEDs, one outside the clubhouse and one at the lockup at Pitch 34/35. However overall there are insufficient publicly available AEDs in Clontarf. So that’s why Clontarf hurling and camogie players are coming together, with support from Clontarf First Responders, to raise funds for additional local publicly available AERs.. On Saturday 10th July, between 3pm and 5pm, we’re planning to puck a sliotar the distance from St. Annes Park to Semple stadium! Well, without leading the park that is! We’ll be pucking the ball for 100 miles or 160kM to raise money to purchase one additional public AED in the area. Can you help? Any donation no matter how small would be welcome. And please swing by to cheer us on (while respecting social distancing) if you're around St. Annes Park on the day!
