Cortoon Shamrocks is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in County Galway.

Cortoon are one of the oldest clubs in the county, and are unique in that they are the second senior football team in the one parish in Galway, Cortoon is a half parish of Tuam. They achieved Senior status in the early seventies in a team powered by Tommy Joe Gilmore and Mickey Rooney, they managed to reach the semi final on two occasions, losing to Caltra and Milltown. Cortoon reached the County Senior Final in 2008, losing to Corofin.

Recently we have seen a dramatic rise in numbers for our underage teams which caters for boys and girls from under 5 up to under 19. Underage teams play in the Galway league and championships and they compete at all levels of Galway football.

In the past few years, we have installed new dressing rooms, a stand and floodlights in Brownsgrove. An opportunity has now arisen, in association with Cortoon Lavally Playing Fields, to purchase additional land to cater for the increasing numbers of players.
