Saint Joseph's Shankill Diamond Raffle celebrates 60 years of loving care for people living with dementia and their families.

Saint Joseph’s Shankill is an award winning dementia specific home, where we focus our care on people’s feelings and emotions and make sure each person know they are still needed, they still matter and that they are loved.

We are home to 62 people and we offer a Day Care Club for people still living in their own homes to visit us each day. We hold the 'Outstanding' Butterfly Model of Care accreditation from Meaningful Care Matters. In 2020 we won the Charity Impact Award and we are proud to have received the Investing in Volunteers Award.

Offering a suite of amazing prizes, the funds raised from this raffle will support

  • Our Lodges: 60 people call Saint Joseph's their home. There are 4 stages of dementia in our home: Early Experience, Different Reality, Repetitive Emotion and Late Experience. People at the same stage of dementia live together in one of our 6 lodges.
  • Our Entertainment and Activities Programme: We love parties and events! There are daily group and individual activities for everyone in every lodge, such as Fit for Life, Imagination Gym (a sensory relaxation session), yoga, tennis, bike rides, magic table games, cinema experiences, baking, singing , dancing and much much more.  Of course our parties celebrate all life events like birthdays, Valentine's Day, Saint Patrick's Day, Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas and sometimes just 'becuase'!
  • Our Day Care Club: We offer a day care club to people living with dementia at home in the community 5 days a week. Club members get involved in a wide range of activities, sing, dance and of course share a cuppa with new friends. Our Club provides much needed daily respite for families and also gives them the emotional support they need.  We would  like to extend this programme to become a 7 day week service.
  • Our Volunteer Programme: There are currently 200 volunteers who are part of our family at Saint Joseph’s Shankill. In 2021 we achieved the national quality mark for volunteering, Investing in Volunteers Award. Our volunteer team is at the heart of what we do and help to make moments matter for the people in our care.
