Skibb2Paris Cycling Fundraiser

Join us in supporting Skibbereen Rowing Club's fundraising campaign in conjunction with the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Our mission is to purchase new rowing boats valued at €30,000, aiding our up-and-coming rowers in our club.

Event Details:

Skibb2Paris Cycling Challenge: Over five days, 20 cyclists, 4 support team comprising past and current club members, along with friends, will embark on a 675km journey from Skibbereen to Paris ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games where a strong contingent of Skibbereen rowers will represent Ireland.
Route:
- Day 1: Cycling from Skibbereen Rowing Club to Dungarvan (165km)
- Day 2: Cycling from Dungarvan to Rosslare, followed by a ferry to Cherbourg (110km)
- Day 3: Cycling from Cherbourg to Bayeux (105km)
- Day 4: Cycling from Bayeux to Evreux (170km)
- Day 5: Cycling from Evreux to Paris, culminating at the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower (125km)
Purpose: To raise €1000 per cyclist towards the purchase of new boats for the club.
Each Cyclist's Contribution: All costs are being borne by the cyclists for this cycling event.
Date: July 21st- 25th, culminating in the opening of the 2024 Olympics.

Volunteer Driven: We rely on the dedication of volunteers, the generosity of donors, and community grants to continue our mission. Skibbereen Rowing Club’s membership has grown significantly in recent years, driven largely by this success. Rowing equipment is expensive and the demand on it has never been so high with the club’s continued growth. We provide an excellent resource for young people in our community and rely heavily on the time dedicated by our volunteers and the generous donations from the public to keep it running. We would be delighted if you would consider getting behind us in this fundraising campaign.

Note: 100% of funds raised will be allocated towards purchasing new equipment for the club, ensuring the continued success of Skibbereen Rowing Club.
