RehabCare Portlaoise - Coffee Morning

At RehabCare Laois Services, our aim is to empower people with disabilities to live lives of their choosing, to develop independence and confidence, and to be active participants in their local community.

Our service users are keen sports people, regularly playing basketball and soccer, and we want to ensure that the members of the RehabCare Laois sports team continue to have the resources needed to fulfil their sporting goals. We also wish to broaden the variety of sports available to all our service users and with potential raised funds we wish to purchase equipment to accommodate this. 

Across our 3 centers  ( The Triogue Hub, Dunnamaise Day Services both in Portlaoise alongside The Riverview Day services center based in Portarlington,  we currently have approximately 70 service users at present. Our service users from all three centers meet twice a week to participate in the sporting events sharing our limited equipment, with enough funds we could potentially provide equipment to all three separate facilities enabling our service users to partake on a daily basis rather than the restricted days we have at present.

We deliver a variety of programmes to our service users which include

·       Facilitating Work Experience 

·       Supporting inclusiveness within our local communities

·       Day Trips 

·       Mental Health 

·       Women and Mens Health 

·       Cooking and Baking 

·       Independent Living Skills 

·       Sports Activities including Bocca, Soccer and Basketball

·       Sing for Joy with other organisations 

·       Travel Training to promote Independant training using public transport.

·       Research and Investigation 

·       DIY skills 

·       Farm Training Skills 

·       And many more.

Our Mega Coffee Monring fundraiser will take place on Wednesday 10^th April in Kavanaghs Bar and Venu on main street Portlaoise.

Our special guest on the day is Tony Cunningham ( solo artist, Blessed and The Other Guys ) who is performing on the day and donating a signed guitar as a spot prize for our signed memorabilia raffle.

Other memorabilia prizes on the day include; Ciaran Wynne signed copies of his album Turquoise and Brown, Signed retro Liverpool jersey signed by Gary Mc Allister and Jan Mjolby, Portlaoise Panthers Signed Basketball team jersey, Laois GAA signed Jersey and many more.
