National Suicide Research Foundation

The National Suicide Research Foundation is an independent, multi-disciplinary research unit which investigates the causes of suicide, self-harm and related mental health and social factors in Ireland.

We are a registered charity (CHY11351) based in University College Cork, Ireland.

The members of our research team come from a broad range of disciplines including psychology, psychiatry, medicine, sociology, epidemiology, public health, biostatistics and health services research.

The National Suicide Research Foundation aims to:

 ·         Examine: By monitoring trends, risk factors and protective factors associated with suicide and self-harm

 ·         Intervene: By applying evidence-based interventions at a local, national and international level

 ·         Translate: By translating and disseminating research in order to inform and impact on policy and practice

We are greatly indebted to the many individuals who fundraise and donate monies to support our work. On behalf of all of the team, thank you for your generosity.
