Páirc Uile-Aimsire Chill Chiaráin

I 2013 rinne Coiste Páirce Chill Chiaráin iarratas faoin scéim Leader a bhí faoi chúram Comhar na nOileáin ar dheontas chun páirc peile Uile Aimsirthe le tuillsoilse a thógáil u gCill Chiaráin. D’eirigh linn lenár iarratas, agus fuair muid deontas go €296,000 agus bhí costas €400,000 leis an togra. Bhí sé go ádh orainn agus mar pobal gur bronn Cumann Peile Chárna An Chaisil €130,000 orainn chun an páirc a chríochnú agus i nDeireadh Fómhair 2015 d’osclaoibh an pháirc agus tugadh Páirc Chuimhneacháin Allen Mac Con Iomaire ar an bpáirc. Tá an coiste thar a bheith buíoch don chumann peile as an tacaíocht seo agus tá an pháirc agus na tuillsoilse chomh breá agus atá in aon áit sa tír agus lasann na soilse go feiceálach i bfhad agus i ngearr ag léiriú go bhfuil pobal beo bríomhar Gaelach anseo in Iorras Aithneach.

All-Weather football pitch in Cill Chiaráin.

In 2013, the Páirce Chill Chiarain committee applied under the Leader scheme run by Comhar na nOileáin for a grant to build a floodlit All-Weather football pitch in Cill Chiaráin. The application was successful, and a grant of €296,000 was received and the project cost €400,000. The committee and the community were lucky enough to be awarded €130,000 by Cumann Peile Chárna An Chaisil to complete the pitch and in October 2015 the pitch opened, and the pitch was renamed Allen Mac Con Iomaire Memorial Park. The committee is extremely grateful to the football association for this support and the park and the floodlights are as good as anywhere in the country and the lights are visible prominently in the distance, indicating that there is a vibrant and vibrant Irish community here in Iorras Aithneach.

Ó Deireadh Fómhair 2015 i leith tá tairbhe bainte ag Scoileanna, Coláistí Samhradh, Clubanna Óige, Cumainn Peile agus Áclaíochta as an pháirc ach tá céim amháin eile le tógáil againn chun an áis spóirt seo a chríochnú, sé sin seomraí feisteas a thógáil ar an suíomh.

Le linn Fómhair 2020 rinne an Coiste cinneadh go méadófaí líon na baill ar an gcoiste chun tabhairt faoin obair seo agus roimh dheireadh na bliana tháinig buíon óg águs áitiúil isteach sa gcoiste chun na seomraí feistis a thógáil agus ballchríoch a chur ar an áis spóirt.

Since October 2015 Schools, Summer Colleges, Youth Clubs, Football and Fitness Clubs have benefited from the pitch but we have one more step to take to complete this sports facility, which is to build dressing rooms on site.

During Autumn 2020 the Committee decided to increase the number of members on the committee to undertake this work and before the end of the year a group of young and local people joined the committee to build the changing rooms and complete the sports facility.
