Ballina Meals on Wheels
Ballina Community Centre provides a Meals on Wheels service to the elderly and infirm in the Ballina area.
Meals are delivered to the receipients homes by volunteer drivers.
The centre facilitates meetings rooms on the premises which are available to community groups and self help groups such as AA and mental health support groups.
The centre is run by a dedicated committee of volunteers.
Meals on Wheels ensures that the elderly and the house bound can live healthy independent lives in the safety and comfort of their own homes.

Meals are cooked freshly in the centre daily and are delivered in biodegradable compostable heat retaining containers, that can be reheated if required in both a convection and microwave oven, they are also suitable for freezing and are safe for the recipient and safe for the food.
where your money goes
All donations are used to fund and support the meals on wheels service and for the upkeep of the meeting rooms.
history
Ballina Meals on Wheels was established in 1969 by the Sisters of Mercy and was officially launched by the then Minister for Health Erskine Childers in 1971.
The service is run from the Community Centre Teeling Street Ballina.
Ballina Community Centre and Meals on Wheels has always been a social service run by volunteers, it still remains as a social servicr serving the Ballina community.
Meals on Wheels relies on the good will and support of its volunteers and sponsors.
