Mediators for Ukraine

FUNDRAISING FOR UKRAINE

Mediators from all over the world unite to support the Ukrainian mediators, as well as the population of Ukraine, who is in survival as a result of the struggle against the Russian occupation.
My name is Tatyana Bilyk and before this war I worked as a mediator, accredited by CEDR and MiKK, a trainer and supervisor of mediators for over 10 years. I am a founder of “Mediation School”, “League of Mediators of Ukraine” and “Association of Family Mediators of Ukraine”.
During the 40 days of the war, more than 4 million people went abroad and 6 million internally displaced people, who were forced to look for a safer place for themselves and their children.
Many Ukrainian mediators also left their homes, lost their jobs and livelihoods. We keep in touch with our mediators and ask you for help to support them by providing the opportunity to cooperate with your organizations, as well as transferring donations to support them in a new place.
In addition, our volunteer activities are aimed at helping families who were unable to evacuate from Kyiv and need help and support. For such families with the elderly, people with disabilities and families with children, we organized a project to supply these families with food, hygiene products and diapers.

Our project of support from the mediation community means conducting webinars by experts and trainers of mediators in their organizations for a donation, that then sent to our charitable foundation. Experts could conduct a 1-2 hour webinar for their community of mediators on any topic, and all interested mediators join the webinar and pay any amount of donations for their participation in the webinar.

Thank you for your support!

history

Long before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Tatyana Bilyk was well known as the pioneer of family mediation in Ukraine, accredited over 13 years ago by CEDR in the UK and committed to resolving family conflicts and helping families through times of crisis. Before the invasion, Tanya was training and supervising mediators at the Mediation School, specializing in child-inclusive mediation and in cross-border mediation accredited by Mikk, the German association of family mediators. Four years ago, she founded the Ukrainian Association of Family Mediators drawing on the national Standards and Code of Practice for family mediators in England and Wales, drawing on the national Standards and Code of Practice for family mediators in Ukraine. Now, she is showing her exceptional courage and humanity in delivering food and medical supplies to sick and needy people in Kyiv and providing crisis counselling. Family mediators who work with couples in personal and family crisis are aware that the Chinese ideogram for 'crisis' combines two characters, one meaning 'danger' and the other, 'opportunity'. Children and adults trapped in underground shelters in Ukraine face acute danger with no way out and no opportunity. We cannot stand by as helpless onlookers. We must seize this unprecedented opportunity to come together in supporting Ukraine, sending humanitarian aid to Ukrainian people and welcoming them in our homes.

Readers of Tanya's searing account of living through this terrible war and helping others to survive it cannot fail to be moved by her spirit. Please send your donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal https://donation.dec.org.uk/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal/
