St. Anthony's Special School in Castlebar provides education and support for children aged 4-18 years old from all over Co. Mayo who have Intellectual, Physical and/or Sensory Disabilities including Autism.
The school is growing and expanding with the provision of a brand new two classroom extension due to open in September 2022.
This is now giving us the opportunity to create 2 new Sensory Rooms to meet the pupils needs.
We will create an Active Room and a Calm Room to support children who need different sensory experiences to regulate themselves. The Department of Education do not provide funding for such rooms so we have to raise the money ourselves.
