Cullina National School

"All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us
should have equal opportunity to develop our talent”
John F. Kennedy

Sarah Houlihan, an SNA in Cullina National school, has
decided that there is no mountain high enough to climb for
the children under her care. Sarah has decided to run a
full marathon for the children in the ASD classes
in her school. She will be taking on the challenge on
Friday the 9th of February, leaving Cullina school at
9am.

How did this fundraiser idea come about?
Last September, class teacher Lorraine Counihan,
another classroom SNA Sarah Kelleher and Sarah
were chatting after the children went home. They
spoke about how the children in both the junior and
senior classes deserved so many more opportunities
outside of the school to promote their social and
communication skills, as well as therapeutic activities.
They want to give them every opportunity possible. However, such trips and
activities are expensive.

Sarah and her colleagues know that they work in a very
privileged position and they work in classrooms with
fantastic children who have wonderful talents and
amazing personalities. They feel lucky to be part of
their life for a few hours everyday.

The aim of this fundraiser is to raise much needed funds so
the children in the ASD classrooms can go on outings once
or twice a month, visit the library, stand in queues to
exchange their books, experience therapeutic horse
riding sessions and surf lessons. The more we raise
the more opportunities we can offer our children.

Please support Sarah Houlihan and the children of
Cullina National school. The funds raised will make a
massive difference to their school life.
