UPDATE: 27th April 2023

 It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. Our Battler Fintan gained his heavenly wings early this morning surrounded by his loving family and courageous wife Edel. It was a hard fight and he battled to the end. Fly high Battler we love you forever and a day. 

 Our McDonald Raffle will still go ahead on the 21st May 2023. ALL proceeds will go towards Edel and baby Fintan.

Hi this is Karen, Joanne, Gillian and Sarah.

We are very close friends with Fintan, Edel and baby Fintan. Fintan and Edel's life was turned upside down nine weeks ago when a pain in Fintan's right hip was diagnosed as soft tissue sarcoma. This Cancer is extremely rare and unfortunately very aggressive. Fintan is currently receiving high dose palliative chemotherapy for a stage IV sarcoma which is unfortunately incurable in its nature. Fintan will require long term treatment in order to maintain his cancer and prolong life for as long as possible. Fintan is a fireman in our local community. Edel his wife has been by his side since day one and wants to continue to do so throughout his time and treatment in hospital. Fintan and Edel are always first to help others in need and now they are in need and we are asking for your help and support. This is sure to be a long, arduous road for the McDonald family and they are in need of our friendship and support now more than ever.
