We at The Gareth Friel Memorial Charity are raising funds to extend the Festival Play Park Buncrana. We will install a wheelchair ability swing, a bird's nest swing and a wheelchair accessible picnic bench for our community to enjoy.

2 accessible benches, an ability swing, a corner bench and 12 pieces of play equipment have been purchased. The tender for the installation of the play park extension is now live and will remain open until 21 March 2024. A PECS communication board will also be installed.

Due to the generosity of our local community, we are now in the position to add 2 picnic benches, a corner seat and lots of extra pieces of equipment to encourage interaction and help with mobility and motor skills of our children and young people.
As of today the swings have been made and are waiting delivery to Donegal CoCo and the seating has been ordered.

Local schools have held bake sales and had a pj day, we had an 80’s night at The Laurentic Bar, our family walked from Malin Head to Buncrana, we had a coffee morning in O Flaherty's Bar and we had a Mega raffle with 7 grand in prizes, all to raise funds for this project. €20,000 was needed and €38,000 was raised in 3 months!!!
