This October(2024), 9 brave student volunteers from Castleknock Community College will travel to Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India with Bekind Ireland. During their time in Kolkata, the students will visit our main project, the Bekind Boys' Home, a protection home for 25 boys whose home was once the streets (founded by Bekind in 2012), and will volunteer with various other projects. The funds raised through this campaign will cover the students' travel and accommodation costs, with any excess funds being put towards the Bekind Boys' Home. Please support these students and Bekind if you can.
Note: Bekind Ireland is a completely voluntary run organisation, nobody at Bekind takes a salary and all of our adult volunteers pay for their own flights and accommodation.
Bekind has been in existence since late 2007. Following several visits to India from 2005, Brian Flanagan (Founder Director) decided to set up the charity. Since then the charity has gone from strength to strength. Bekind supports a number of different projects in India, with a particular focus on street children.
