The Cork City Marathon is taking place on the 4th June 2023. This year join Team Breakthrough and help us Make More Survivors.
Breakthrough Cancer Research is an Irish cancer charity, based in Cork, Breakthrough Cancer Research are focused on research and education with a particular focus on cancers with a poor prognosis, such as ovarian, lung, malignant melanoma, pancreatic and oesophageal. We facilitate excellence in research by bringing patients, scientists and clinicians together to collaborate with the aim of discovering and developing new effective treatments and cures for patients in Ireland, Europe and Internationally. This approach has already led to 8 new discoveries being taken all the way from the lab to patient study or clinical trial.
With your help we can continue this ground-breaking work so no family ever has to hear ‘there’s nothing left to try’.
Breakthrough Cancer Research funds the efficient and effective development of new treatments for cancer. We work to significantly impact the number of people who can survive this disease. Research programmes funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research must focus on translating lab discoveries into new treatment opportunities. To this end we work closely with clinicians in practice all over Ireland so that our research is targeted at finding new options for poor prognosis and incurable cancers.
