Steps for Stroke
Steps for Stroke this March challenges you to take a minimum of 10,000 steps a day on each of the 31 days throughout the month.
The facts
Our Goal
At Croí, we want to support stroke survivors and their families to overcome challenges by offering valuable support in their recovery.
We want to build on our existing stroke support service and develop a unique resource for the West of Ireland as we recognise there is still a significant unmet need for more support for stroke survivors’ post-hospital discharge. We aim to support stroke survivors to live within their communities, to promote Independent living after a stroke and to eliminate isolation with an expansion of our day centre, available to both stroke survivors and their carers.
The aim is to ease the transition from hospital to home whilst allowing each person reach their full potential.
Your Health
One way to reduce your risk of stroke, is be active for at least 30 minutes 5 days a week, at a moderate intensity.
An activity of moderate intensity will increase your breathing and heart rate, such as a brisk walk.
You can also break up your activities into two 15-minute activities or three 10 minutes.
By doing your part, you will get the health benefits.
Every step counts.
