A very recent project we are hoping to complete by Christmas is a hospital for children in northern uganda.
In northern uganda due to the abduction of over 20,000 kids to fight in the rebel army the LRA there has been horrendous atrocities inflicted in kids of all ages.
Girls are forced to be sex slaves to the army and when made pregnant in the jungle often get malaria. Once contract of malaria during pregnancy kids can be born with deformed withered limbs. Mostly feet. In uganda there is a terrible stigma around disability and kids with any physical disability are often fed last, rarely ever educated and sometimes left to die.
We can fix these limbs medically and safely for approx €150 per head. The stigma is also lifted and kids can take part in normal life.
We have decided to build a children's hospital on the grounds of an established orthopedic hospital in Kumi northern uganda. The hospital will be completed in the next few months.
We have a drive towards raising the last €5000 to fully decorate the hospital (25 bed) to make it pleasant and childlike for children.
Your donation would go 100% to this project and if any money is left over will go directly to pay for children's surgeries.
