The Childhood Cancer Foundation is a great organisation set up by parents and they really understand what going through a child's cancer treatment means to a family and the support they need. They have been wonderful and through them we have benefited from a lovely play therapist on the ward in St. John's and a new programme called the Beads of Courage. Through this programme the child collects beautiful beads for each chemotherapy, blood test, doctor visit, hospital stays and various milestones throughout their journey. My son Samuel started the programme this year and he is so proud of his special beads that allow him tell his story and he even shared them with his class at school. There are many things that Childhood Cancer Foundation do to support families and these are not provided by the Government. They are also raising the awareness and promoting research into cures and treatments and issues of survivorship for pediatric canncers. S
