Samaritan volunteers are at the other end of the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Their mission is to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal feelings and suicidal behaviour.
Volunteers are always needed and are fully trained before taking any calls. A fit-for-purpose training room in their premises in Nuns Island (currently being renovated) will enable them to train hundreds of volunteers over the next number of years.
As part of this their outreach programme has them reaching out to high risk groups and communities to reduce the risk of suicide.
Use of a promotional vehicle has been very successful in the past in creating awareness of the Samaritans and we want to make one available.
Sorry this is a bit late guys, so much fun doing tough mudder, and all for a great cause. Delighted to be a part of it 😊
