On March 31st Mick Foley and I are setting out to reach the summit of Imja Tse (20,305ft) & Everest
Base Camp (17,600ft). Without a doubt this will be a grueling and demanding challenge.
This brings us to the why? We are raising money for two local charities, The Children’s Sacred Heart &
Waterford Marine Search and Rescue. My son Noah has recently been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy
and on a frequent visit to the Sacred Heart, I discovered that they are trying to raise 1 million euro for a
new center that is badly need. The children that attend the center deserve a better environment and
facility to learn and grow in. Take one look at their website to see what they wish to achieve https://www.touchinghearts.ie/
Waterford Marine Search & Rescue have recently saved their 101st life. The volunteers need specialized
and well-maintained equipment all year round to continue their great work on suicide prevention and
rescue. The city needs this service to continue and be efficient as possible.
