Hi there, thanks for visiting my page. I've just signed up to this challenge for my fifth iteration, and it doesn't get easier with experience. Starting this at Easter, I'm further behind than I ever have been. That said, I could not let down the IHF as it's such a wonderful cause, so I'll go through the pain of the more intense training regime.
The Irish Hospice Foundation is a wonderful cause, providing end of life comfort for the terminally ill. Each year on the cycle, I have met several people who have had close ones in this situation, and have been moved to take on the cycle as a result. Hearing their experiences has only made me more determined to help where I can.
Furthermore, my experience of the IHF has been nothing short of amazing. They are very enthusiastic, but modest and very accountable. The admin is run quietly and efficiently, with no element of indulgence at all. Each year, I give my own time for this, and pay for all of the costs myself. So 100% of all money donated on this page or otherwise goes straight to the IHF to do what they do best.
I would ask please that you donate what you can, it is all very much appreciated, big or small.
Many thanks
Alan
