Aisling here, this is my short story -
I was the first out of my circle of close family and friends to suffer a miscarriage. Myself and my boyfriend Eamonn had brilliant support from our family and friends during this difficult time but couldn't fully express our grief to them as it was sometimes too upsetting to speak about.
After a few months of trying to process what had happened and not being able to move forward, I decided I need to go and talk to someone or go to a group that would understand what I was going through. That is when I found the Miscarriage Association of Ireland, I went to one of their support groups. I was able to share my grief with people that had gone through the same experience as myself. I felt safe being able to express what had happened, what I was still dealing with and didn't feel uncomfortable talking about pregnancy loss.
I can't praise the Miscarriage Association of Ireland enough because they helped me deal with something that I think no woman, couple or family expect to go through. They really are amazing!! xx
