John's beloved sister Jane sadly lost her brief battle with cancer last year. Jane was a Galway girl through and through. She loved Salthill whether it was walking the prom or swimming at Blackrock and had hopes herself of taking part in the Galway Bay Swim one day.
These days it seems that every family in Ireland is affected in one way or another by cancer.
John joined by his good friends Eoin, Mike and James are doing their bit to raise much needed funds for Cancer Care West by completing the Galway Bay Swim as a relay team.
Any donations, however big or small, would be greatly appreciated and would help Cancer Care West with their amazing work.
Thanks folks
John Whiriskey, Eoin O'Neill, Mike O'Connor, James Canney
Jane was always so proud of her little bro, John! Huge congratulations to you and Mike and James for your wonderful swim. Lots of love. Xxxx
