All funds raised from this challenge are going to Cork Dog Action Welfare Group, and I'll explain my reasons for choosing them below. But not only will your funds be going to a more than worthy cause, YOU'LL also get something back from the daily workouts - improving cardiovascular health, fitness levels and mental wellbeing.
I am a qualified personal trainer working at Total Body Training in Little Island, Co Cork. At the gym we offer a variety of classes including but not limited to spinning, circuits, strength & conditioning, and TRX. I'm also a dog lover, and got my first dog Cookie (Bichon x Chihuahua mix) two years ago. A few weeks ago, I decided to get another dog as company for Cookie, and saw on Facebook that Cork Dog Action Welfare Group (dawg) had recently removed 17 dogs from a bad situation. Amongst the seventeen were a number of young Maltese puppies. I adopted one of those puppies - Sunny - who you can see in the pictures, but since bringing him into my life, have been horrified to hear of the cruelty that happens to dogs all over Ireland every single day.
Cork DAWG have currently closed their doors to the public because they have so many already in care, and cannot afford money nor space to take on more rescue cases. Hence the idea behind the online 30 day HIIT challenge. If you donate €10 minimum, you'll receive access to a private group I'm going to set up on Facebook for the challenge. Every evening I'll post a video entailing the 20 minute workout to be completed the next day. The exercises will all be able to be completed in the comfort of your own home, and won't require any extra equipment to be purchased. The challenge will be suitable for everyone from complete beginners to those that attend the gym regularly, and can be done in your own time.
There will be 5 workouts per week (Monday - Friday) over a period of six weeks totalling 30 workouts at 20 minutes each. Please donate and join this fun (!!) challenge, and help raise funds for a very important cause. Many of us nowadays have rescue pets in our lives, but we wouldn't have them without the wonderful rescues that give so much time, love and dedication to changing lives every day.
