Last year Pat and myself did this walk in our mother / mother in law, Rachel's, memory. It took place on Nick's birthday, March 11th, and even though she was so unwell, she was so pleased we were doing it and even happier when she realised that she would finally get out of hospital, for a day or two to celebrate her birthday with her family and friends.
Little did we know it would be her last birthday and, in fact, that in a couple of month's time she would be making a decision to be transferred from Beautmont Hospital to St Francis Hospice Blancardstown to live out the last of her precious days.
It is hard to put into words how thankful we are for the care and support she received from all the staff there. This supportive, relaxed, comfotable and beautiful environment put Nicki at ease in her last few weeks. Her every need was met. We shared lots of happy, sad, funny, hard and positive times there together and made precious memories and for this we are truely grateful.
We miss Nicki so much and think about her everyday and feel It's time, now, for us to give back to the hospice and show our appreciation for the amazing care and support she, and indeed we, received, by raising funds for such a great cause. We also hope that by doing this walk it may help us, a little, with our own grieving process. But mostly we really want to honour Nicki's memory and life and our hoping that you will support us by donating to this page.
Let's do this for Nicki 🖤
Thank you
Pat & Sylvia
