training update 24th June
I woke up this morning in a cold sweat having had dream that I crawled over the KOG finish line in last place... maybe I should take that as a sign that my training schedule could do with a boost?!
5 weeks to go and training has been going well for the most part. Alex has taught us some solid core work and swimming in the sea has been surprisingly enjoyable (if a little jellyfishy and cold at times!).
Cycling is my surprise pleasure. I have a new love for it that I had never tapped into before. I love getting out on the bike and have completed KOG route a few times
Running is my main concern and worry. I completed the mini marathon a few weeks ago and crawled over the finish line. I need to concentrate a lot of time and energy over the next 5 weeks on improving my stamina.
For now though back to my glass of sangria (;
When I saw Damien Mc Keever come over the finish line of the KOG last year looking in such good shape she thought ‘that could be me’ and was determined to follow In his footsteps.
That and the fact I don’t like to turn down any opportunity to raise money for TGGF because they continue to change peoples lives on a daily basis In Gav’s memory.
I’ve never done even a third of a triathlon before but I’m hoping that will change in August. I’m looking forward to the challenge. Bring it on!
Best of luck Laura, you'll smash it. Love Nat & Ivan
