As some of your will know I did a charity walk with my soon to be 6 year old son Rian in the summer of 2016 for a local Charity, Galway Autism Partnership. Since then we stepped back a bit from the fundraising as we were concentrating on Rian and helping him to develop and reach his potential and to this end he has come on leaps and bounds and is a happy, sociable and loving little man albeit with difficulties that through experience and continual training we are adapting to. To get to this stage though required a lot of intervention and was at times an extremely stressful and soul destroying journey– GAP provide this Haven to Rian ( and many others ), a place where he can truly be himself, thrive and have fun in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. This year though GAP is in a financial crisis and only have sufficient funds to stay open until Christmas and without a turnaround in fortune will have to close in the new year. This is a charity that receives NO state funding and is purely run on the generation of others and it would be a tragedy for it to have to close down . Rian will be 6 at the end of November and we will doing the walk to coincide
