I'm taking part in the Barcelona Marathon on the 10th of March 2019 , following that I am competing in the Dublin Marathon. Following this I wil restart my hiking training for Kilimanjaro in Feb.  
I've chosen to fundraise for Pieta House .

Diagnosed with Epilepsy a few years back.  Although not a very serious condition once it is managed correctly, at the time I did not feel this way. There is still quite a stigma around this illness due to lack of education and people afraid to be open to close family, friends and work colleagues. I was told in a joking fashion that it will not have an affect on my life once I dont plan on climbing everest. We all climb our own Everest on a daily basis, some more than others which is why Pieta house and the work that they do means so much to so many people. I want to send the message that anything is possible and having a goal in life not revolved around career and money can give people that light which is so often needed but not reacable.

From humble beginnings, Pieta House has grown to almost 270 therapists and administration staff, and the demand for our service hasn’t let up. In 2016 alone, almost 6,000 people came through our doors suffering from suicidal ideation and/or engaging in self-harm, or to avail of suicide bereavement counselling.

Pieta House also operates the Suicide Bereavement Counselling centres that had previously been operated by Console. We provide free counselling, therapy and support to individuals, couples, families and children who have been bereaved by suicide. We also offer a Suicide Bereavement Liaison Service and the Freecall 24/7 suicide helpline 1800 247 247. For more information, click here.

Training for kilimanjaro will involve various climbs outside of Ireland. The costs for these trips, the Barcelona Marathon and circa 40% of the cost for kilimanjaro will be covered by myself meaning that at least 70% of all money raised will go to Pieta House.
