My Story, Hi my is Jonathan, when I was 3 years of age I became ill and had to be rushed to Temple Street Children’s Hospital. The acts of my family, local people, doctor and staff of Temple Street Children’s Hospital took great care of me and saved my life. I am now 34 years of age and for a long time I’ve always wanted to repay them for the excellent care they took of me. So I wanted to organise a good event in which to raise funds. I play golf and came up with an idea of hosting a golf scramble in conjunction with me participating in a 24 hour golf challenge. I don’t think it is something that has been done in Ireland before so I thought why not give it a go, make it a fun day and night and have people from all over come along and play a few holes alongside me throughout the event. Another reason why I’m doing this event is for Crumlin Children’s Hospital that has played a very important part in other family member’s lives. My wife’s brother Shane who spent 14 months in Crumlin and, who sadly passed away at age 4 and a half, so I wanted to make this a fundraiser for both hospitals to hopefully further improve the lives of so many other sick children and as a token of appreciation to the staff of these hospitals, who in my own eyes are incredible people. So let’s hope you can all make it to this event that I’m hosting in my home golf club Highfield Golf and Country Club the June bank holiday weekend 2019 and help raise funds for these remarkable hospitals. Thank you all and look forward to seeing you. Jonathan Walsh.
