Hi Guys, As you know I don’t normally post up anything on Facebook or social media, but I’ve been forced into it. I'm doing a 65km walk with some great friends (Barry Fitzsimons, Colm Connolly, Mick Hannon) in a couple of weeks. We are dipping our toes into the Camino and doing a few days of walking in Northern Spain. This we are hoping will turn into an annual event and we plan on doing at least 100km next year and building from there. We hadn't planned on fundraising this year, but one of the lads (Colm) decided to throw the rest of us under the bus and go ahead with his fundraising. So it is now a bit of a competition (and I'd love to beat him). To be honest, 65Km isn't really that much of a walk over 3 days, but I plan on walking a lot more than that. I plan on drinking a lot of red wine and can't really see myself walking the 65km in a straight line, so I think the mileage will be a lot more than that! This is not for my drinking fund (mores the pity), but to raise some funds for Purple House Cancer Support, and all the funds raised here will go directly to them. Unfortunately everyone is affected by cancer in some shape or form, and the people at Purple House do a wonderful job supporting people and their families. I lost my dad to cancer on New Year’s Eve. The most generous and kind man you could ever meet, and the first to put his hand in his pocket to help someone else. I will be raising a glass to him on my travels and hopefully I won’t go off the rails altogether, but I’ll keep you posted!!! If you can spare a few quid now that would be great, and if not, I have a full year to track you down and find you (for next year’s walk). Thanks guys!!! Regards, Jay
