So it looks like this will finally happen! To all those who donated last year - thank you. Your donation will roll forward to this event in May. If you have not yet had the time then please consider donating now.  My goal is to handcycle at least 125km in 5 days (I might take a rest day somewhere in the middle!) wiht a strecth goal of 200km.

Spinal Injuries Ireland did not exist when I broke my spine in 1990 - I wish they had. They focus on helping spinal injury survivors and their families cope with the dramatic changes in their lives. They are there from the start, and fill the gaps between trauma recovery, rehabilitation, and resuming a normal life in the community. I know from personal experience how difficult that is: the fear, the challenges, the depression and the despair. But despair and courage are just opposite sides of the same coin - it all depends on how you spin it and who is there to help you do it.
