The Calcutta (Kolkata) Run 2020 is going virtual! We’re hoping to get the profession to commit to run/walk a collective 10,000k to get us from Ireland to Kolkata – and of course raise vital funds in the process. 

 

The concept is to ask participant to commit to running/walking a specific distance and contribute/raise funds for their participation. Our collective progress towards Kolkata will be shown via a map on our website and on an app. There would be a window from Friday 30 October to Sunday 8 November to run/walk any distance to contribute to reaching Kolkata.   

 

To even raise a portion of the €300k we raised last year we really need commitment from the solicitor’s profession and our ongoing supporters. It goes without saying the needs of the Peter McVerry Trust and the Hope Foundation are greater than ever. Indeed, in Kolkata, as well as the normal challenges, they are faced with Covid 19 and Cyclone Amphan. We need to do something. The Charities need us now more than ever, let’s not let them down! 

 

We are also conscious that our loyal supporters, the solicitors’ profession, have their own considerable stresses at this time. But maybe this is an opportunity to raise ourselves above that and add to the health and well-being initiatives in all our firms.
