As a mark of solidarity with the furthest behind in our food systems, Pat Mc Mahon climbed Irelands highest mountain barefoot to mark World Food Day on the 16th of October. In what was an amazing journey of bravery, pain and endurance.
He did so to highlight the escalating hunger crisis in our world. The humanitarian crisis has been exacerbated by Covid 19, which has pushed over 135 million more people into hunger. 270 million women, children and men are now experiencing on a daily basis extreme hunger. People experiencing extreme hunger do not know where their next meal is coming from. They regularly go a day or days without eating any food.
As a fundraiser, our event has been a success; we certainly welcome more donations which will allow our field operations in India to continue to target malnourished pregnant mothers with vital food-based intervention. More than your money, however, we are looking for your hearts. Unite with us by joining our call to end extreme hunger in our world.
