We need your help to raise funds for our new Children's Grief Centre.
This challenge is open to everyone, and you may already know the pain of standing on a lego brick, but now you can test yourself and your willpower to walk across lego bricks and make a donation to this good cause.
So take off your shoes, slip off your socks and make your way to your own trail of lego bricks. Children who are bereaved and grieving overcome many obstacles, so let's show them some support and participate in the Children's Grief Centre Lego Walk Challenge!! You might ask why Lego? Lego is a great tool for young minds. It allows an opportunity for creativity and perseverance. Children often build lego houses, houses that can represent a sense of safety and security. The Children's Grief Centre provides a safe space for children, and we need your help to build a brighter future for bereaved and grieving children.
How to take part safely:
1. Lay out all your lego in a line
2. You can keep your socks on or be really brave and go barefoot! It's up to you
3 If you need, ask someone to stand near you to help keep you balanced
4. Take a nice deep breath, making sure you are relaxed and ready for the challenge.
5. Walk very slowly - take small steps and walk with a flat foot
6. Once you have completed the walk, lift your feet one at a time and brush the Lego pieces off before stepping away
7. Tag us on Social Media @children_grief on Twitter or @childrensgriefcentre on Facebook and Instagram and celebrate your achievement #CGCLegoWalkChallenge
8. Make a suggested donation of €5 on our Idonate Page, and tag 3 friends who you think are up for the challenge!
The loss of a loved one is very difficult for children and young people. Death, separation and divorce changes the shape of a family. Whatever the reason the impact on a child or young person can be tough, as they struggle to come to terms with what has happened. The Children’s Grief Centre is here to walk the journey with your child. We provide support, care and an open ear to hear their story. We do not charge a fee for our service.
