Story

On Friday October 1st, I am giving up my bed and usual comforts in support of those facing homelessness during this critical time of need.
As part of my Virtual Sleep Out challenge, I am raising desperately needed funds for Galway Simon Community, who provide vital Prevention, Housing and Support services to people facing homelessness here in the West.

The fear and trauma of having nowhere to sleep is a stark reality for some, and Covid-19 continues to pose an even greater challenge to those who don’t have the security of a home. So far this year, Galway Simon have already seen an alarming rise in the number of households needing their help. As high rents and a severe lack of affordable accommodation continue to drive people into homelessness, they are hugely concerned about even more challenges ahead.

They urgently need our support to ensure that they can continue to be there for those who will need them most in the difficult times to come.
