In rememberance of my Dad , Finbarr O Shea I'm taking part in Steps for Stroke.
The Cork Stroke Support Group were an invaluable support system for him and my mom for the last few years. They would meet every Wednesday where they enjoyed Boccia or yoga and were members of the CSSG Choir "Stroke Notes".The Choir was so lovely to watch especially at Christmas and their Summer garden party . They made lifetime friends , and during covid WhatsApp messages would keep them entertained and was a vital support from their friends in the group.
We are going to do a Lap of the Lough on Saturday before his one year anniversary mass. We would love it if you were over in the lough in the month of February and thought of Finbarr you might donate to this fundraiser.
Finbarr was a hugely popular
man in Cork by being so generous with his time - in the Ballyphehane church he volunteered every week as a Minister of the Eucharist and he was famously known as the man in the flat green cap in the Cork City Football Club where he devoted so much of his time.
We didn't get to have a proper send off for my Dad so any small gesture like this seems fitting for him.
I've chosen to fundraise for Cork Stroke Support . All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.
I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely.
