While in Ireland for a long overdue visit with friends and family Seamus and I did the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle which is a one day 107 miles bike ride on the Ring.
This event is the major fundraiser for the local charities in Kerry. Many of the charities depend on donations to continue to help Alzheimer's patients, run the air ambulance, sea rescue and help in settling Ukrainian refugees. Because of Covid the event couldn’t be held the last two years so this year they are hoping to make up lost ground. All donations would were greatly appreciated.
The ride lived up to its promise of major hill climbs, rain, wind and spectacular views. Over the years I’ve cycled parts of it but never the whole shebang in one day with a 63 year old motor. The hardest part was to keep the bike in a straight line as I pass the hundred or so warm and cozy pubs on the way
Thanks
Tim
