I was first diagnosed with cancer at 15 years old. On June 30th 2014, I was told I had stage 3B Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Everything in my life changed in a moment. After chemotherapy and radiotherapy I was given the all clear in 2015. 7 years later, at 22 years old I was diagnosed with my second type of cancer. Nothing prepared me for this, and needless to say I was devastated. In 2022, I underwent surgery, IVF, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I will continue on my treatment in injection and tablet form for the next 4 years.  In January this year I was rushed to hospital with intussusception, an extremely dangerous complication cause by polyps in the intestine. I spent a month in hospital, unable to eat solid food. I underwent major surgery and was extremely sick, however all the polyps came back clear of cancer. The polyps found confirmed that I have a very rare genetic mutation making me highly predisposed to a number of different cancers. This diagnosis has changed my life forever and is something I will need to learn and live with. The past two years have been spent constantly waiting on scans, test results and hospital visits. This year we have decided to raise money for breakthrough cancer research, in hope to help make a change to how this disease is treated.
