Join us for Go Purple Day, a collaborative effort led by An Garda Síochána alongside domestic abuse services across Ireland. Our goal is to raise awareness about the resources available to those affected by domestic abuse and violence, while also working to diminish the stigma surrounding seeking support.
We invite the the Drogheda and East Meath community – individuals, schools, businesses, churches, and organisations – to unite and demonstrate your solidarity by embracing the color purple for a day. Whether it's wearing purple attire, baking purple treats, decorating your surroundings, or illuminating your home, workplace, school, or gathering spaces with purple lights, let's all participate in our own unique ways. Share your photos and experiences using the #GoPurpleDay hashtag and tag @DWCR41226152 or #droghedarefuge in your social media posts.
The color purple symbolises love, resilience, respect, and autonomy – qualities that define a compassionate community with zero tolerance for any form of abuse or violence against women and girls.
Together, let's work towards creating a South Louth where no one lives in fear of experiencing abuse.
