This year myself and my mam, Averil, will be running the VHI Women's Mini Marathon to fundraise for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
On 12th June 2022 my partner, Daniel, suffered a cardiac arrest while out running and passed away. Daniel was fit and healthy and like many deaths as a result of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS), there were no warning signs.
Every year over 100 people in Ireland die from SADS. CRY is an incredible charity which offers support to those affected by SADS and provides vital screening to help prevent further deaths. All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.

About the Cause
CRY Cardiac Risk in the Young
CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young was founded in March 2002 by parents who had experienced the effects of sudden and unexplained death within their families.
We are a self-supporting registered Charity. The Charity is dependent on help to raise awareness of cardiac riskin the young, support the National Screening Centre where families and individuals at risk are evaluated and we provide counselling and support to families affected.
