The school is participating in the Olympic Schools Challenge - this Team Ireland initiative wants students and families all around Ireland to make the virtual journey with them to the Tokyo Olympics. The challenge aims to get children excited about the Olympics and also encourages them to get moving and be physically active every day for the month of May. To help the children along their way, the PTA is holding a SPONSORED WALK during school on Friday, 28th May 2021 so the children can get active and raise funds for their school all at the same time! Our target is €2,000, and if we smash it any excess monies raised will directly benefit the children by funding or helping to fund such things as the Fun Day that the teachers are planning for the children in June! About the Cause
Old Borough National School (PTA)
While our small size has advantages for the children, it comes at a price. Every year we must fundraise to pay for essential services not covered by Department of Education grants to a primary school such as ours.
A key part of this fundraising is the critical contribution provided by the PTA towards the supervision and clerical costs of the school.
