On May 11th I will be taking part in the 4th edition of Barry & John's Backyard Ultra which will be held in Glencullen within the Dublin mountains. It is officially the Worlds Toughest Backyard Ultra so please help me raise vital funds for Cancer Ireland.
The backyard ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6.706kms in less than one hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is used to recover and replenish for the next hour's race. The race finishes when one person completes one more lap than anyone else.
The course consists of a 600ft elevation gain in the first 1.8 miles then 1/2 mile through a bog and a final 1.8 miles is a 600ft decline back to the start, where the race will start again.
I've chosen to fundraise for Irish Cancer Society . So many lives are affected everyday by this horrible disease and hopefully one day there will be a cure for it. All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.
I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely.
